Alona Beach, a 1.5-kilometer white-sand beach on Panglao Island, Bohol province, is pretty much the center of activity on the island, with its row of resorts, restaurants, bars, dive shops, and shopping stalls. The beach offers excellent swimming, snorkeling and diving. It's also the base for diving tours to Balicasag Island and Virgin Island. Surrounding Balicasag are several world-famous dive spots like Black Coral Forest and Turtle Point, where rare black corals and sea turtles reside.
How to get there
Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific fly from Manila to Tagbilaran, Bohol daily. From Tagbilaran airport, take a taxi or habal-habal to Alona Beach. Resorts along the beach usually offer airline transfers.
