Swim and snorkel in the white sandy shores of Bitaog Beach, set in a cove in the province of Dinagat Islands, Mindanao, about 1,243km southeast of Manila. This off-the-beaten beach sees very few visitors every day, despite its clear blue waters and towering limestone cliffs that bring to mind visions of Palawan. Take a habal-habal to explore the rest of the island. You can go surfing in Campijagit Point, swim in Lake Bababu, and marvel at the Natural Bonsai Forest.

How to get there
From Manila, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific offer flights to Surigao City. In the Surigao City airport, ride a jeep to the Boulevard where there are boats bound for San Jose, Dinagat Islands. Travel time is roughly one hour and a half. From there, ride a habal-habal to where you’re booked, to the tourism office or straight to Bitaog Beach.
