Cabongaoan Beach is an unspoiled stretch of creamy beige-sand beach, 294km north of Metro Manila. Its waters are tranquil and its shoreline is made of sandy beach fringed with rugged rock formations and coconut trees gently swaying to the ocean breeze. What's even more alluring about Cabongaoan is its relative isolation, devoid of rowdy crowds for most time of the year. Swimming is as pleasant as it can be in the sandy parts of the sea but guests should be mindful of the rocky areas on the edges of the beach. As the day winds down, the fiery colors of the sunset come to life.
If you wish to spend the night at Cabongaoan, rent an open air cottage from any of the rustic resorts or pitch a tent.
How to get there
Take a Victory Liner bus from its terminal at 683 EDSA, Cubao to Alaminos, Pangasinan. Travel time is about five hours. At the Alaminos bus terminal, hop on a bus going to Burgos, Pangasinan, one to two hours' ride away. From the bus terminal in Burgos, hail a tricycle to Cabongaoan Beach.
