Caohagan Island, just 19 kilometers from Cebu City, is an island escape that lets tourists enjoy the provincial life by the beach. Compared to other islands near Mactan Island such as Pandanon and Nalusuan, the island has a large local community, many of whom sell souvenirs and fresh seafood like crabs, clams and fish to visitors making a lunch stop. Make conversation with the friendly locals and eat lunch in native huts by the beach. During low tide, the expansive sand bar emerges, providing a clean, safe area for families to play and swim. Entrance fee is P200 ($4) per person.
