As the boat approaches, Dumog Sandbar appears like a mirage in the middle of the sea. The islet sits in dazzling blue sea, a long white stretch of powdery white sand that delights snap-happy tourists who make their way to Tubigon, Bohol. Wade in the clear sea during low tide, then wait as the glorious island disappears underwater. There's a caretaker's hut on stilts to safeguard the island at all times.

How to get there
Fly from Metro Manila to Tagbilaran, Bohol via Philippine Airlines or Cebu Pacific. From the airport, take a taxi to the Dao Integrated Bus Terminal, where there are buses going to Tubigon. Here, there are outrigger boats that can be hired to take tourists to the Dumog sand bar.
