El Nido’s Lio Airport to open a new terminal in April

The new terminal will have a luxe resort feel and house shops, VIP lounge, separate departure and arrival areas and provide Wi-Fi connectivity

Lio Airport, the only airport in El Nido, Palawan, primarily serviced by AirSwift, is opening a new terminal in April this year.

The new terminal being built in the existing airport, 7km north of El Nido town, is right next to Lio Tourism Estate. It is expected to be completed in April. It will cover a 1,500sqm area and will have a luxe resort feel and house shops, new toilets and public amenities, separate arrival and departure areas, VIP lounge and provide x-ray facilities and WI-FI connectivity. It will increase the current terminal capacity to 200 people, a five-fold increase from the existing airport terminal capacity.

AirSwift will transfer its operations to the new terminal on April 28. AirSwift is an Ayala-owned carrier and the sole airline operating flights to El Nido.
