Just about two hours away from Boracay Island is picturesque Malalison Island, or Mararison as locals also call it, in Culasi, Antique. It's home to several white-sand beaches, including the long beach traveller @wliamjohn captured on Instagram and Malalison sandbar. Antique is still pretty much off the tourist radar, making it a quieter alternative to Boracay. At low tide, go to Nablag Islet and explore the caves and rock formations.
How to get there
Cebu Pacific Air, SkyJet, and Philippine Airlines fly daily from Manila to Caticlan. From Caticlan, you can rent a van to Culasi for about P400 per person, round trip. From Culasi port, take a 10- to 15- minute boat ride to Malalison. Boats good for eight people cost about P1,500.
