Roughly 32 kilometers from Puerto Princesa airport lies one of the city's best-kept secrets: Nagtabon Beach. It's not on the Palawan group tour route and attracts mostly local tourists on weekends and independent travelers. Tucked away in a cove and nestled in a thick forested area, Nagtabon has cream-colored fine sand, clear waters, and from October to February, beginner-friendly surf waves.  Expect shallow waters close to shore, perfect for wading and for kids to enjoy. The seabed is sandy with a gradual slope. A nice beach for a day-out. Cheap thatched native huts are available to rent along the beach.

How to get there
Fly from Manila to Puerto Princesa via Philippine Airlines or Cebu Pacific. From the airport or anywhere in the town center, take a tricycle directly to Nagtabon Beach.
