Masbate, a province roughly 380 kilometers from Manila, is becoming a strong tourist favorite with its selection of unspoiled white beaches. One such island is Tinalisayan in San Pascual, Burias Island, which is blessed with a long and sugar-fine sandbar. Boatmen deliver tourists straight to this sandbar during island hopping tours, so visitors can instantly wade and swim in the cool waters or snap photos of the tropical backdrop for their Insta-memories. The actual island is quite small with no amenities, so Tinalisayan Island is usually bundled with visits to other islands like Dapa and Sombrero.
How to get there
In Manila, ride a taxi to the Philtranco bus terminal in Cubao or Pasay where you can hop on a bus to Naga City. From the bus terminal in Naga, ride a jeepney going to Pasacao. Then, take a tricycle to the Pasacao port where there are boats headed to San Pascual in Burias Island. Travel time is about two hours. From San Pascual, there are available boats for sailing to the different islands in the municipality. Tinalisayan Island is a 30-minute boat ride away.
