Puerto Galera's White Beach, roughly four hours from Metro Manila, is an easily accessible escape for tourists longing for white sand and clear waters à la Boracay. Locals and travellers flock to White Beach not just to bask in the idyllic natural scenery or swim in the crystalline ocean, but also to enjoy the famous nightlife of the island. At night, this stretch comes alive as beachfront restaurants open their doors with Puerto Galera's famous cocktail dubbed the Mindoro Sling and energetic performances by local dancers. The frenzied parties the island is known for aren't for everyone -- those who prefer a more laid-back night can book at the beachfront Aninuan Beach Resort for a step back from the crowds or the more distant Kalaw Place tucked away in a hidden lagoon.
How to get there
Take a JAC Liner bus from EDSA, Kamuning, Quezon City to Batangas pier. From there, hop on a ferry to Puerto Galera and get off at White Beach.
