One-hundred-peso flights (about US$6) and other unbelievable travel deals await the public at the upcoming Philippine Travel Mart (PTM), opening on September 4 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Organized by the Philippine Tour Operators Association (PHILTOA), PTM is now on its 26th year, the longest running travel trade show in the country. It brings together over 250 exhibitors offering tour packages for Philippine destinations, as well as ASEAN countries, and China, Japan, and South Korea.
In an effort to reach out to millenials and the digital generation, PHILTOA has made use of QR codes that participants can scan to get special travel deals, such as the 100-peso Skyjet flights, one way to destinations like Caticlan and Batanes.
People can look forward to tour packages discounted by up to 70 percent, such as a three-day/two-night Palawan package for P899 (about US$19) per person, including accommodation, daily breakfast, a Puerto Princesa city tour, and roundtrip airport transfers.
Other travel deals to watch out for include the Bucket List tour packages, which includes tours to less-travelled destinations such as Romblon, Higantes Islands, Catanduanes, and Calaguas.
PHILTOA president Cesar Cruz even mentioned a 4D/3N tour to Batanes, including airfare, accommodation, tours, and activities, for less than P10,000, putting the island with notoriously expensive airfare just within reach.
The PTM will run until September 6, from 10 am to 9 pm. Entrance is at P50 for regular tickets, and P40 for students and seniors. For more information, check out the PTM Facebook page.
