Beginner waves make Bagasbas beach perfect for those learning to surf

Just five minutes away from the Daet town center, Bagasbas Beach in Camarines Norte, north of Manila, has beginner waves, perfect for those learning how to surf. Bagasbas United Surfers Association teaches surfing for P400 (US$8.5) an hour, including board rental and instructor fees. Text +63921 251 874 to book.  

Not into surfing? The wide stretch of sand offers lots of space to lie down, catch some sun, and enjoy surprisingly peaceful moments amid all the surfing action.

The fastest way to get to Camarines Norte, from Manila is by air. Philippine Airlines flies from Manila to Naga City Airport, a one-hour flight. From Naga airport, Daet is a two-hour drive. Philtranco has daily trips from Manila to Daet, Camarines Norte, for about P550, departing from bus stations in Cubao in north Metro Manila, and Pasay, south of the Metro. From the Daet bus terminal take a tricycle to Bagasbas Beach. Travel time is about 9 hours.
