I learned to surf in La Union. My husband Jericho Rosales (Echo) got me into surfing. I’m Australian so people think I grew up surfing, but I actually learned in La Union.

When I get a chance to travel it’s usually to a different destination, with friends. We go to Baler, Zambales, and Pagudpud.

The best waves I’ve experienced were in Carille, La Union. The rides are long and mellow, which is perfect for me because I love being on a longboard, so the longer the rides, the better. Pagudpud is another favorite. It does not have much of a surfing community so it’s quiet.

La Union is one of the best surfing destinations. It’s very much a surf culture there – the locals have been surfing all their lives, know the waves, and are welcoming to beginners. I'll always love La Union not just for the surfing but for the entire community and experience.

My favorite surfing buddy is my husband. I learned a lot from Echo.

I love visiting Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel (or Flotjet) in La Union. It's a boutique hostel with a great vibe and good food! They have bunk beds in thatched cottages on the beach and it's a refreshing way to experience the hostel lifestyle here in the Philippines. It's owned by friends, so I'm biased, but it's a great place to relax. If you go to La Union, please get an outdoor massage at Flotjet by Big Momma. Best massage I've had!

There’s a nice little restaurant in La Union called Angel and Maries Surfers Retreat Restaurant. This is the place to go to for good Filipino food. It’s owned by our friends. Worth checking out is Gefseis Greek Grill, a Greek restaurant owned and run by Greeks serving authentic Greek food. It’s not by the beach but it’s worth the drive.

My idea of paradise is being on the beach at sunset, with people I’m closest to.

Amanpulo on Pamalican Island in Palawan was an incredible experience. It's beautifully peaceful and the island boasts of some of the most perfect sunsets and sunrises I've ever seen

Pink light and gin-clear waters at Pamalican.

My favorite beach? Now, I'd have to say the beach at Pamalican Island. I've never seen such a pristine, uninterrupted beach before. It's truly a stunning place.

I’m a very simple packer. I pack a lot of bikinis. I love Marysia Swimwear, available from Net-A-Porter. It's a little high end but I love the quality.

I think the tip to looking fabulous when traveling is putting comfort first without sacrificing style. When traveling on a plane, I wear jeans, a simple top, flats, and always take a blazer. If I’m going to the beach, it’s shorts, flat sandals, and just a simple camisole, and for parties, maxi dresses. And I always have big black sunglasses.

Beauty tips for the beach? Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen. And drink lots of water!

Pumps or any shoes are my fashion fetish. I'm still a Louboutin and Choo fan, but I think my fetish has diversified and gone a bit nuts. I love the vibrancy and colour of Sophia Webster, Charlotte Olympia, and Paul Andrew.

I travel and use two phones but I really love using the Asus Zenfone 2's camera - it's one of the best phone cameras I've used - and I've used a lot. The trick to a great [Instagram] grid is great lighting - outdoors works best for me.

I use a Canon 5D Mark III. I'm constantly learning about that camera but it's an awesome piece of technology. I have a lot of fun taking that camera around with me.

I tend to buy a lot online. I buy a lot on Asos, which has got the cheapest stuff and designer brands too. I use Johnny Air to courier the stuff I buy. I do a slightly bigger order so I don’t have to keep ordering. I also buy a lot of stuff on Net-A-Porter, which carries a lot of designer stuff – great for investment pieces. They’re really good because they ship directly to your home address.

We'll always have…Palawan. Kim and husband, the actor Jericho Rosales

Echo and I are huge film fanatics. We love watching films together from blockbusters, to indie to art films.

My favorite restaurants in Manila are Wholesome Table,  Rambla, and Yardstick.

My blog www.kimcamjones.com is a creative outlet for me. It was supposed to document my transition from Australia to the Philippines, then it evolved into more of a mood board. I place inspirations from photography, to art, to fashion, to music, and then more and more people started emailing me about fashion. I started collaborating a lot with local photographers and local designers. I edit all of my own photos and my blog gives me the creative freedom to shoot what I want.
