The resort which opened in May 2013 has a modern Asian design and is dramatically set against a backdrop of tropical forests and the Malasimbo, Alinbayan and Talipanan mountains. It has 20 rooms, suites and villas, a 400sqm infinity pool, outdoor jacuzzi, gym, spa and entertainment room. It's restaurant, The Brae, serves Asian and continental cuisine.

The Malasimbo Spa, which opened in May 2014, uses products made from 100 per cent premium virgin coconut oil, and features the only fish foot spa in Puerto Galera, saunas, and spa treatments, including the signature Malasimbo massage (P1,600 or US$34 for 60 minutes) which uses a blend of virgin coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and lemongrass, lavender and geranium essential oils .

Puerto Galera is located about 130km south of Manila. It’s famous for its White Beach, and the annual Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival held in March.

How to get there. From Manila, it takes about four hours to get to Puerto Galera. Hire a chauffered car for about P4,000 (try Avis Rent a Car) or get on a Jam bus at their terminal on EDSA corner Gil Puyat Avenue to get to Batangas pier. At the pier, go straight to Terminal 3, where you can book a seat on one of the ferries to Puerto Galera. Infinity Resort also arranges round trip private boat transfers from  Batangas pier to the resort beachfront for 15 persons at P24,000.
