What's on my Christmas table?

We asked Masterchef Philippines judge JP Anglo to let us in on what he's cooking and eating for Christmas eve dinner

Chef JP Anglo, surfer, chef and co-owner of Sarsa restaurant and Kafé Batwan spends his Christmas Eve with his parents, two sisters and their families. “It’s the only time I cook for them,” he says. His Christmas Eve menu is almost exclusively “Chinoy” or Chinese-Filipino food, his father's side of the family being Chinese. Noche buena or Christmas eve dinner is often a homage to Chef JP’s paternal grandmother who greatly influenced his love for food and cooking. Expect steamed fish, suckling pigfried rice, and callos (Spanish stew with beef tripe and chickpeas) – the only Western dish — to occupy pride of place on the chef's family Christmas table.
