Take me to...Kaputian Falls in Samar

It's a short but rewarding trek to this waterfall in Borongan, Eastern Samar

One of life's greatest joys is taking a dip in nature's refreshing pool at the foot of a waterfall. The crystal clear waters of Kaputian falls definitely beckons, rushing from a gentle three-meter drop. Located in Barangay San Gabriel in Borongan, Eastern Samar, the falls can be reached after a tricycle ride from Tarusan St. in Borongan town to Barangay San Gabriel, from where you follow the river for a 30-minute trek to the falls. The trek is friendly enough even for those who are not hardcore trekkers.

Kaputian Falls is in Brgy. San Gabriel, Borongan. Hire a tricycle from the town proper for about P60 (about US$1.30) per person to take you to the falls. AirAsia, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air fly to Tacloban, from Manila. From the airport, head to the Tacloban Bus Terminal and board a Borongan-bound bus. Fare is about P150, and travel time is roughly 2 hours.
