Airbnb features more than 100,000 rooms and apartments worldwide to rent in private properties and has a growing list in Metro Manila. Here's our selection of stylish and brilliantly located apartments in the city that won't break the bank.

Edades Tower, Rockwell, Makati

Located in one of Makati's desirable neighbourhoods, this one-bedroom apartment looks like it came straight out of the pages of an interior design magazine. It was on the cover of the local Condo Living magazine in 2015. This apartment which can accommodate up to three, is compact at 65 sqm, but light streaming in through the windows and the way it's been furnished makes it look bigger. Guests can enjoy pool and gym access, as well as the option to sign up for a guest pass at the Rockwell Club next door, which has courts for tennis, basketball, and other sports, as well as a spa. It's also just a few minutes walk away from the Power Plant mall, which houses a lot of high end shops and restaurants.

Why book? A fancy address, stylish apartment, and if you don't care to use the car or taxi to navigate Makati's traffic, you don't have to. Within walking distance is Rockwell's Powerplant Mall, housing restaurants, Rustan's Supermarket, cafes, cinemas, and designer shops. The owner's sales pitch on the website says the apartment is in the same building as the luxury residence Aruga Hotel, but costs half as much.

This one-bedroom penthouse apartment on the 63rd floor of the 64-storey Knightsbridge Residences, which opened in 2014, offers a great view of Makati City. Its penthouse location also makes the place airy and light. It's also walking distance from the Kalayaan area and its bustling nightlife, bars and restaurants. Free cable, high speed internet, and a phone are available for guests, as well as access to the condo's amenities, such as the swimming pool, gym, library, and movie room.

Why book? Being a penthouse apartment has its advantages. It's also a well appointed apartment, with new facilities, and near the night life.

Why go? It's compact, cozy, and near the CBD offices, restaurants and shopping areas.

The price is not bad either, showing that if you don't mind being a few hours out of Makati, you could get a lot more space for less money. With a queen-sized double bed and a sofa that also converts into a bed good for two, there is space enough for up to four people. Brightly-colored walls, a fully-stocked bookshelf, a string of fairy lights and an assortment of interesting wall tapestries make the space feel more like home. A plant-filled balcony with a great view of the sunset overlooking the city is an added bonus.
